Pad Printing
|
Pad printing allows for the direct printing of the image on the badge reel
surface. It's limited to one or two colors and has a tendency to scratch
off over time. The advantage to this custom badge reels imprinting
method is that the badge reel rim, which surrounds the
recessed area in the center. can also be printed with additional
information such as a website or telephone number. A pad printed image is achieved using five
steps: 1) a metal plate containing the image is exposed to ink, 2)
transfer of the image from the plate to a rubber print head, 3) lifting
and moving the print head away from the metal plate, 4) making contact
between the rubber print head and object area to be printed, 5) Removal
of the print head from the object surface. Today most custom badge reels
are produced using full color
process printing which allows multi-color logos and designs to be
reproduced.
